St Giles' at Six - Sunday April 19 at 6pm

 

The concluding event of the 2026 Festival is the recital given by some of the outstanding young musicians who participated in this year's Festival. 

• Cost: Free entry, with an optional retiring donation.

• Location: St Giles' Cathedral, High St, Edinburgh.

The recitalists are:

• ​Méabh Downey singing music by Britten and Hughes

• Shionka Kamikaji-Inkster (harp) playing music by Nino Rota and Park Stickney

•  Jemma Grosse (flute) playing music by Poulenc

• Grace Cooper (violin) playing music by Beethoven

• Ki Ming Jia (piano) playing music by Bach and Fazil Say

​The Concert of Highlights featured performances from a variety of the classes - see our Facebook page for pictures. The concert concluded with the final round of the Concerto Competition (see below).

The four soloists in the final round were:

• Rhea Fitzgerald - Chopin Piano Concerto No 1 mvt 1​

• Sandy Reilly - Rebecca Clark Viola Sonata

• William Guo - Mozart Violin Concerto No 4 mvt 1

• Paul Oggier - Haydn Cello Concerto in C Major mvts 1 & 2
