Concerto Class Finalists and Final Concerto

After two days of fantastic music making by our First Round competitors, we are thrilled to announce our four finalist in the Concerto class of the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival 2025. In no particular order, our talented musicians are:

  • Viktor Seifert - Paganini Violin Concerto No. 1

  • Christopher Lo Jun Hao - André Waignein Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone

  • Joel Gutierrez - Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2

  • Ben-David Zasman - Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2

A huge thank you to the adjudicators Fiona McLean-Buechel and Jena Pang, competitors, and accompanists for making this a truly marvelous experience for everyone involved.

Don’t miss the Final Evening Concert on Sunday, 16th March at 6PM, held at St Cuthbert, Lothian Road. The evening will begin with highlights from this year’s competitions, followed by the grand finale of the Concerto Competition, featuring our finalists performing with the Orchestra of the Friends of the Festival, conducted by Jane Atkins.

About the Festival

The Festival is an annual event for amateur musicians of all ages. We offer competitive and non-competitive classes for instrumentalists, singers and ensembles to perform their pieces in a friendly environment. All our classes are overseen by a specialist adjudicator who provides supportive feedback on the performance.
